It was a crazy idea…

I have been blessed (or cursed) with the trait that if I enjoy something I am compelled to, in some way, recreate it myself. When I eat something that taste great I instantly begin to think of how I can make it. In 2001 I had the idea that I could build a guitar. I realized that “I” couldn’t build a guitar, but I had resources with the same, if not the original, character trait that lead me down this path…my father. He brought knowledge, skills, and a shop full of tools to the plan. Over the next 2 years we spent occasional weekends slowly creating a guitar.

Some years later, I decided to rekindle the old flame. I don’t have much more knowledge than before and anything I learned in the initial process I have forgotten, but I have a shop and a desire so hopefully that will result in something.

I build each guitar by hand and it usually takes about 40 hours of actual hands on building and lots of pauses in-between the steps waiting for glue to dry or going to my real job.
